Hans & Susan Oines
"Youth With A Mission is a global movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus personally to this generation, to mobilizing as many as possible to help in this task, and to the training and equipping of believers for their part in fulfilling the Great Commission."
Hans and Susan are missionaries with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Lakeside, Montana. Along with their children, Jens, Anton and Abigail, they recently moved from Cape Town, South Africa, where they served with YWAM since 2008 in the areas of Biblical Training and Discipleship, as well as Missionary Care and Development.
As missionary members of YWAM in Montana, Hans and Susan will be joining with the vision to "know God and make him known, together." YWAM Montana is committed to "the communication of the gospel by training, sending, supporting and being missionaries." Each year, hundreds of students are trained on the YWAM Montana campus in the areas of discipleship, worship ministry, outdoor leadership, audio production, dance and sports ministries and Biblical Studies. The purpose is that each young adult who is trained would develop a heart for missions and reaching the lost, and that they would gain practical experience working in one of these areas towards that end. These students are sent out in teams all over the world, with a focus on 6 target nations that YWAM Montana has developed a strong relationship with over the years, for the purpose of strategic partnership. The goal is to send long term missionaries out into the nations, and there are currently 150 missionaries sent out from YWAM Montana in different locations around the globe.
At this time, Hans is supporting the work of YWAM Montana through practical work on the YWAM campus, specifically in Facilities and Maintenance. He will be transitioning into a role on the Biblical Studies team in 2020. Hans is also partnering with a local ministry called Rural Shepherds Network to connect with and support rural pastors and congregations in the Flathead Valley.
