“The essence of the Christian religion consists in the reality that the creation of the Father, ruined by sin, is restored in the death of the Son of God, and recreated by the grace of the Holy Spirit into a kingdom of God.” – Herman Bavinck
Christians believe God’s Word and live to glorify God by worshiping Him and loving our neighbors. The most basic beliefs of the Christian faith are articulated in the Apostle’s Creed.
“From [God] and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.” (Romans 11:36) Reformed Christians have a high view of the power, holiness, grace, glory, and faithfulness of God. Our congregation believes the teachings of the Three Forms of Unity, which originated from the Protestant Reformation. Some great Christian teachers you’ll hear about at Almond Valley are Augustine, John Calvin, Jonathan Edwards, Charles Spurgeon, Herman Bavinck, and Martyn Lloyd Jones.
Almond Valley is a congregation of Jesus’ followers. Some of us have been Christians for years and others are just beginning a life of devotion to the Lord. Through God’s Word and Spirit we all are built up in Christ and equipped for works of service. We are known as a church that is friendly, Bible-believing, and servant-hearted. The best way to learn more about AVCRC is by attending a worship service on Sunday.
